Job Summary:
Manages Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance for the Controllers group. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and provides oversight for the reconciliation of all corporate cash and bank accounts. Provides direction to individuals in other departments with accounting issues that may impact their processes. Reviews processes in managing cross-functional projects from inception through implementation using the DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Maintains strong working relationships with other teams in the Finance organization and Operational groups.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

Monitor and assist the Controllers group to ensure compliance with SOX 404 and other internal policies and procedures.
Review processes and evaluate for automation, simplification and internal control compliance.
Monitor bank accounts and resolution of cash issues with Treasury, AP, Payroll and Technology.
Manage cross-functional projects from inception to implementation.
Direct the 1099 and escheat process for the company.
Manage oversight of policies, chart of authority, contract management.
Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
5 or more years of experience required in Accounting
Certifications/Licenses: Currently licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to meeting the above qualifications, any of the following are preferred:

Masters degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
5 or more years of experience in Oracle General Ledger, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) process documentation, reconciliation, or project management

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of Accounting principles and practices
Knowledge of computer systems, including Oracle, Business Objects, MS Excel
Knowledge of Escheat or 1099 process
Knowledge of CSX intercompany accounting structure
Analytical and problem solving skills
Project management and organizational skills, including ability to apply DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) principles
Interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to research issues and effectively communicate findings
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to lead and drive cross-functional team projects
