Job Description


SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Director Quality Management System is responsible for implementing the policies associated with the Quality Management System for Rolling Stock equipment, providing supervisory support for Quality Assurance Assessors, delivering appropriate metrics for trend analysis to key departmental stakeholders and interacting as necessary with external customers.
• Directs the effort for strategic development and implementation of quality management inspection processes for Rolling Stock equipment. • Develops and directs personnel deployment plans for corrective action and root cause analysis of maintenance and inspection processes. • Creates and communicates expectations for rolling stock equipment inspection – audit criteria to all direct reports based upon analysis of data trends. • Develops employee training and improvement plans. • Develops communication plan for internal and external stakeholders based upon inspection result criteria that would include key findings and recommendations.

EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
WORK EXPERIENCE: • Demonstrated quality management system experience per International Organization of Standards criteria. • Demonstrated managerial and/or supervisory experience leading a diverse group of people. • Ability to manage multiple projects/processes effectively to timely conclusions • Demonstrated proficience in MS Office applications including Access and Project software • Ability to learn new tasks (both complex and routine) in a fast paced environment with frequently changing priorities • Flexibility to work extended hours if required
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: • Demonstrated experience with Process Management Implementation and Control. • ISO Lead Auditor certification. • Working knowledge and experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance and Lean Manufacturing techniques. • Demonstrated experience and/or working knowledge of the contractual aspect of Procurement/Contract Administration. • Demonstrated experience/working knowledge of various data management business systems including Procurement, Equipment Maint. History, HR. • Some experience in railroad related or similar transportation industry. • Some knowledge of various fleet and equipment nomenclature to include transportation industry style vehicles.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
NOTE: Position will be located in Wilmington, DE or Philadelphia, PA
