Based in Newark, New Jersey, you will manage the day to day operations of the Field Service Engineering Department. You will serve as primary interface with Pittsburgh Engineering staff, and Customer relative to technical issues impacting the Newark AirTrain System, operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with annual rider ship of over 10 million passengers.

In your role you will:

Manage Field Service Engineers to build and maintain efficient and effective subsystem teams compliant with contractual requirements and Bombardier Transportation policies. You will interface with HQ Engineering regarding system modifications through FR, TCA, and ECN processes;

Monitor system performance against reliability and availability targets and develop mitigation plans to address shortfalls. You will review system maintenance costs against targeted costs and recommend strategies to bring the two into alignment. You will also recommend value added initiatives to provide for more cost effective maintenance. You will monitor PM and Corrective Maintenance procedures to ensure that they provide for the most cost effective and efficient work plans allowing reliability and availability targets to be maintained;

Manage the planning team responsible for creating and monitoring daily and long-term Corrective and Preventative Maintenance Plans for the SDC. Ensures Customer, contractor and vendor safety via training programs for same. Provide and monitor system access for customer, contractors and vendors;

Work with all department managers, as well as Internal and External Auditors, to ensure compliance with engineering quality standards on all shifts in all processes. You will make recommendations to address deficient work practices and ensure the integration of quality engineering work practices throughout the SDC via audits and training. Implement non-conforming cost (NCC) measurements, identify deficiencies within the SDC’s processes to reduce cost, increase reliability and increase safety for passengers;

Provide management and customer with engineering reports and projects. You will also ensure all field service engineers are performing to work standards.


As our ideal candidate:

•You hold an Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree is preferred ;
•You possess a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in transportation or equivalent;
•You have a strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems;
•Your English communication skills are excellent, Spanish communication skills will be considered as an asset.
