Based in Arizona, Phoenix, you will monitor, maintain, and provide training and instruction on all aspects of safety for the Phoenix Skyharbor Skytrain Operations and Maintenance project, including personnel and system safety. You will lead and manage health and environmental initiatives and safety policy development for the site.

In your role you will:

Work to ensure an environment of zero workplace safety incidents through training, safety program development, promulgation of written procedures, performance of risk assessments, safety oversight of project activities, and site compliance with all company, federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to health, safety, and the environment;

Create and maintain all relevant health, safety, and environmental documentation in compliance with federal, state, local, and company requirements;

Develop and conduct safety orientation for new employees as well as develop and conduct safety and health briefings for visitors, vendors, and customers working at the site;

Coordinate with site management and vendors to identify, mitigate, or resolve health safety, and environmental issues as soon as they are evident. You will lead incident investigations as necessary;

Conduct periodic health safety, and environmental audits of the site and report findings and key performance indicators to Site Leader and through Bombardier Health Safety and Environment reporting system.


As our ideal candidate:
•You hold a Bachelor’s degree in technical field;
•You possess three to five (3-5) years of experience in a similar role related to safety;
•You have experience working in the construction environment, manufacturing or an operations and maintenance facility; rail industry will be considered as an asset;
•Your experience having written safety policies and procedures is useful;
•You have lead drill sessions;
•Your electrical knowledge is required;
•You have working familiarity with OSHA and first aid standards;
•Your knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is good;
•Your English communication skills are excellent.
