Job Description

Description The White Plains office of HDR is looking to add to their staff a Project Manager/Project Engineer. This group specializes in Civil/Site design and planning for Federal facilities and municipal projects. The group takes the lead to manage these projects and coordinating with the various disciplines involved. Group is also involved in water resources projects such as flood damage reduction studies and watershed management plans. The primary duties of the Project Manager / Civil Engineer will be design plan and specification production on wide variety of Federal and municipal projects which includes site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities.

The position will also require management of civil staff, project costs and the ability to effectively multi-task ongoing assignments. Duties also include performing calculations, specifications and contract document preparation and permitting applications. Will perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Requirements BSCE and PE required. 10+ years experience in the development of civil design documents, preferably for federal projects (such as DoD, USACE, Air Force, Army, Navy and National Guard). Individuals with municipal project experience will also be considered. Project Management experience is required and this individual will be responsible for project accounting and quality control reviews. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the local permitting requirements for Metro NY/NJ. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications such as AutoCAD/LDD or Civil 3D. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience with water resources related programs such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS would be a plus.
