HNTB Corporation is currently seeking a Senior Rail Signal Systems Inspector to support our Construction, Engineering and Inspection (CEI) group located in Lake Mary, Florida (Orlando) in support of a multi-year commuter rail project in the Central Florida area.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for daily inspection efforts on rail construction projects to ensure all aspects of the project’s Signal Systems, including Wayside Signals, Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Systems and Communications are properly installed, tested and maintained.
Proficient at reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
Perform field inspection of contractors operations to see that they comply with contract documents.
Prepare daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by contractor and review periodical pay estimates for accuracy with contractor.
Prepare sketches and assemble data for Field Engineers use in making changes to the project.
Organize and supervise team of Signal Systems Inspectors.
Train ‘Rail Inspector in Training - Signal Systems’ inspectors.

Basic Qualifications:

Electrical Engineering degree plus 4 years of engineering experience in the construction of major railroad Signal Systems, 2 years of which were on a major commuter rail project; OR a High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 8 years of responsible railroad Signal Systems construction experience on transit or freight rail projects, 2 years of which were on a major commuter rail project.
Construction, inspection and maintenance experience of Centralized Traffic Control Systems (CTC/TCS), Highway-Rail Grade Crossing Warning Systems, ATCS Communications System, Wayside Signals, and CTC/TCS Dispatch Systems.
Knowledge and experience with the applicable Federal laws and regulations pertaining to Signal Systems construction and maintenance.
