We are looking for aSenior Sales Engineer - Bids and Proposals for our Pittsburgh (PA) facility.

You will be responsible for leading and directing internal and external resources towards the preparation and transmission of cost-effective, winning, and profitable proposals. You will ensure that proposals accurately address the Customers technical and commercial terms and conditions, as well as align with Group and Systems procedures. You will support Sales in the development of winning proposal strategies, and implement these strategies during bid generation and through negotiations. Finally, you will lead the effort of transitioning a successful bid to the project execution team.

In your role as a Senior Sales Engineer - Bids and Proposals, you will:

Manage all aspects of the preparation and submission of technical, management, commercial and financial proposals and pre-qualifications, in accordance with Group and Systems procedures. This includes formulation and review of contract documents through execution, as well as transfer to the Project Management department upon successful award;
Work closely with the Bid Team to manage generation of the internal Sales document, taking a leadership role during reviews;
Analyze cost or pricing data and prepare analyses with the Cost Engineering team for negotiation and project management support;
Represent the Bid Management Director regarding issues relating to process control or improvement, cost or price structures and assignments involving day-to-day operations of the Systems Bids team;
Support department administrative tasks including standards and production control, quality planning, order entry, market forecasting and operations reporting.


As our ideal candidate, you possess:

Bachelors degree in Engineering;
Minimum of 15 years experience in a companys headquarters or in a professional position within the fields of engineering, marketing, programs, contracts, manufacturing or purchasing;
Experience leading multimillion and complex proposals from beginning to end;
Thorough understanding of transportation modes and technologies;
Knowledge of company business practices, policies, procedures, products and markets;
Excellent English communication skills written and spoken;
Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese written and spoken (asset).
