We are looking for a Vehicle Dynamics/Suspension Engineer for our Pittsburgh (PA) facility.



You will provide mechanical engineering design and support in the area of vehicle suspension systems including drive axles, gears, bogie frames, etc. You will also perform vehicle dynamic simulations. You will work within a team atmosphere to develop new products and maintain existing products.



In your role as a Vehicle Dynamics/Suspension Engineer, you will:


•Design and develop a new drive system for an automated mass transit vehicle that utilizes the latest technology in an independent suspension design;
•Support Operations and Maintenance sites in field issues and failure analysis. Work with supplier and customers to determine root cause and corrective actions;
•Provide project support in areas of project status, schedules, budgets, and action plans;
•Support the analysis and reduction of vehicle interior noise levels as may be sourced from the drive axle gears, suspension system, or drive train;
•Conduct vehicle dynamic simulation utilizing standard multi-body simulation tools such as SIMPACK.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate, you possess:


•A Bachelors degree in Engineering field;
•A minimum of 10 years of experience in design or development engineering;
•A design experience with heavy industrial suspensions and drive axle systems, including gearing, with an emphasis on structural-borne vibrations that result in vehicle interior noise;
•Good working knowledge of various 2-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional CAD packages, Pro/E, CATIA and Autocad (asset);
•Ability to perform structural and dynamic analyses, including classical methods as well as finite element techniques. (Familiarity with Nastran/Patran and Hypermesh asset.);
•Excellent English communication skills written and spoken.
