To satisfy our expanding Services division and upcoming bids,
We are looking for Site General Managers, Operations & Maintenance for our future facilities across the United States.

Please note that all positions are contingent upon being awarded the contract.

Your Role

The Site General Manager plans, organizes, directs , controls and coordinates the commuter rail operations and maintenance through a team of functional managers and front line supervisors. He ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and trainset reliability and availability. Incumbents report directly to the General Manager, Services - Operations & Maintenance, North America.

Your challenges
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the site including but not limited to regulatory compliance, EHS, customer service, equipment reliability, business development, purchasing, finance, property management, P&L (budgets) and in some cases transportation activities;
Administers a service function enabling the site / facility to operate twenty-four hours a day, 365 days / year;
Serves as liaison with the Customer, Regulators and Bombardier Transportation to ensure quality service is provided and all contractual, regulatory and jurisdictional specifications and standards are met;
Plans, develops and manages budgets and is responsible for long-range planning, cost saving initiatives, production efficiency initiatives, employee / labor relations, succession planning and overall contract oversight;
Responsible to ensure proper records are maintained for all operational activities in full compliance with Corp, Customer and Regulatory requirements;
Capable of utilizing electronic databases, design and implements new procedures, prepares cost projections, lead maintenance activities and analyses the sites performance;
Confirms the preparation of financial and administrative reports; analyzes and interprets financial data and other information;
Supervises, hires, monitors and coordinates work activities of management team;
Plans, develops and recommends new or revised policies and programs to meet the needs of the business.


Your Experience and Qualifications
3 years of recent experience as the Senior Operating Officer of a railroad service combined with 10 years in rail operations is preferred; relevant experience in rail operations will also be considered.
Must possess operations experience that is compliant with Title 49 Chapter II, Parts 200-269 (Federal Railroad Administration) of the US Code of Federal Regulations and APTAs ‘ Manual of Standards and Recommended Practices for Rail Passenger Equipment’.
