Overview:

HNTB is looking to hire a Sr. Project Controls Engineer to work out of their New York, NY office. This individual is responsible for executing project controls services (scheduling, budget management, cost estimating and change management) associated with a project or program and is committed to high quality client reporting and deliverables consistent with sound industry practice. Executes the project controls requirements for a project or program by providing technical and administrative direction, coordination, evaluation, training/coaching to a team of project control specialists, while defining and maintaining internal and external client-requested project control deliverables. Is capable of assisting with technical details of scheduling, estimating and cost control to the greatest extent possible and has a working knowledge of the tools required such as Primavera Scheduling Software. Works closely with Project Managers, agency clients, sub-consultants and project stakeholders (including but not limited to agencies, utilities, regulatory agencies, etc.). Participates and helps to facilitate regular project cost and schedule review meetings.
Responsibilities:

Develop cost control/scheduling/accounting procedures and the Project Management Plan for the project or program.
Assists in or directs the preparation of specialty schedules, project labor forecasts, cash flows, and profit recognition activities.
Analyzes variances in cost and schedule performance against the baseline estimate and schedule and communicates reasons for variances to relevant management entities. Identifies trends and deviations and recommends corrective courses of action.
Recommends solutions or recovery plans for schedule/cost impacts or delays.
Supervises the Scheduling efforts for the project to include the preparation and analysis of schedule baselines, progress schedules, specialty schedules, schedule analysis and integration of cost loading and project progress reporting.
Prepare PM for internal and external meetings providing backup documentation, data analysis and reports to assist in the management of the project and dissemination of information/reports/deliverables to the PM, client, and stakeholders.
Prepare, edit, and publish reports in accurate and timely manner that reflect the current status of the project in formats acceptable to the client and stakeholders.
Create, edit and publish guidelines, manuals, and documents for use by Project staff including the Project Management Plan, Project Controls Manual, and Monthly Project Progress Reports

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum of 10 years of experience
Working knowledge of Oracle Project Manager P6
Experience supporting large transportation programs (rail preferred)
Experience performing planning, scheduling and execution of multiple phases of a program (preliminary engineering, NEPA, final design, construction, commissioning and closeout
