We are seeking a Civil Technical Excellence Center (TEC) Manager - Civil Senior Supervisor Engineer with strengths in highway and roadway design. This Local Civil TEC Lead will be responsible for:

Assigning resources to projects to meet project needs defined by PMs.
Ensuring work performed conforms to professional standards of practice. Responds to PM’s regarding the technical adequacy of the work.
Monitoring, through contact with staff and PMs, that quality services and products are being provided to all projects.
Identify career and training needs of staff.
Analyze future workload, taking into account ongoing marketing efforts and labor forecasts by the PMs, and recommend adjustments in staffing to maintain the long-term balance between workload and staffing.
Participate in hiring and recommend candidates to fill vacancies and build capability.
Maintain and develop technical resources, standards, reference materials and equipment needs.
Mentor and facilitate the imparting of technical knowledge to staff including the transfer of technical knowledge from the more senior personnel to those with less experience.
Provide technical oversight of subcontractors.

Typical work assignments will include program management and general highway/civil design, review and inspection of all types of transportation infrastructure for the following projects: I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program, New Haven-Hartford-Springfield Rail Corridor, Route 34 Urban Boulevard and Task-Based Railroad Engineering.

Job Requirements

BSCE and CT PE required. MSCE preferred. Candidates should possess 15+ years experience including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity. Experience should include a strong background in the design of complex transportation related facilities with emphasis in highway and roadway design. Oversight and coordination of construction phase services experience required. Strong writing skills to support technical report and proposal preparation, as well as oral presentation skills are required. Candidates should have project management experience with the ability to manage project scope, schedule and budget. Connecticut DOT experience strongly preferred.
