Job Summary:
Defines, tests, implements, and integrates business systems and manages technology end-user asset management tools. Oversees personal computers, laptops, desktops, printers, and Positive Train Control (PTC) devices.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

* Test and implement business systems in coordination with service management standards and policy for end-user assets.
* Create training and communication documentation for policy compliance.
* Interface information between applications and processes with vendor and supplier asset inventories.
* Create management and compliance reports for asset availability, reliability, usage, and optimization. Document and communicate reports for assets with process owners.
* Automate asset information between vendors, suppliers, CSX processes, and LANDesk end-user personal computer management tools.
* Define processes and procedures to interface with asset management inventory systems. Monitor and implement end-to-end integration of asset management inventory systems.
* Ensure that the principles of Six Sigma, Lean, and other process improvement methodologies implemented improve the capability of business processes.
* Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Associates or higher degree from an accredited institution required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, Business Administration, or related major field of study
* 1 or more years of experience required in Information Systems/Technology

Equivalent Minimum Qualifications:

* High School diploma/GED required
* 3 or more years of experience required in Information Systems/Technology

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to meeting the above qualifications, any of the following are preferred:

* Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or Business Administration
* Experience with Kawakita Jiro (KJ) affinity or Six Sigma Supply, Input, Process, Output, and Customer (SIPOC) diagramming
* Experience with personal computer equipment end-user deployment and support
* Certifications/Licenses: Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, Lean, or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

Knowledge and Skills:

* Knowledge of asset management systems
* Ability to design, develop, and integrate business systems
* Knowledge of system develop life cycles and methodologies
* Knowledge of integration of inventory/asset management involving systems/tools such as LANDesk, Enterprise Integration ‘Q’, Asset Interlock, or Maximo
* Knowledge of project management methods and project management software skills such as Niku Clarity, Microsoft Project, or process mapping such as with Microsoft Visio
* Microsoft Office skills
* Knowledge of financial principles and processes
* Budget management skills
* Knowledge of Oracle Financials
* Knowledge of Telecommunication (Telecom) data and voice engineering
* Knowledge of Telecom services cost structures and estimation techniques
* Telecom expense management knowledge (contracts, expenditures, and billing)
* Transportation/Railroad industry knowledge
* Contract and vendor relationship management skills
* Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) Operations
* Collaborative and coaching skills
* Written and oral communications skills to communicate with all levels in the organization effectively, including creating clear visual presentations for business and upper management

Job Requirements:

* 25% travel required.
* May be required to travel to Business Continuity site in support of real or test Disaster Recovery exercises.
* Work hours may vary in length and schedule. Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek.
* The applicant selected for this position may be required to successfully complete a background check and drug test. Passing results must be received prior to start date in new position.
