We have multiple opportunities available for an Engineering Technician I.

Location - Louisville, KY or Rochester, NY

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I

BASIC FUNCTION
The Engineering Technician I provides field support, supply and track punch list material; creates and maintains bill of materials base on circuits and layout drawings; maintains submittal logs for jobs; creates site reference materials; generates tags, detail, detail check, and generation of pull sheets for shop/field tests; CAD interlocking circuits/details/layouts/energy loops for projects; and tests jobs, continuity and breakdown.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Supervises: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
‘*’ denotes an essential function of the job
A. *Provides field support, supply and track punch list material.
B. *Creates Site Manual.
C. *Maintains Submittal log.
D. Maintains Bill of Materials.
E. Sends part number requests to Mechanical Department.
F. Calls vendors for material or ordering information.
G. Tests jobs, continuity, tag and breakdown.
H. Generation and distribution of tags.
I. Detailing of circuits and details.
J. Detail check.
K. CADD.
L. Factory tests of racks and cases.
M. Relay test card spreadsheets.
N. Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required.
O. Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Companys business strategies and objectives.
P. Functions as a contributing member of the departments team and other teams, as assigned.
Q. Assists the department in the accomplishment of the teams goals.
R. Performs other duties as assigned.

C. Accurate and timely completion of projects and/or reports.

BASIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED
A. Two year certificate (college or technical school) electrical related.
B. Familiarity with Transit and Safetran parts.
C. Knowledge of electricity.

TECHNICAL ABILITIES
A. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.


MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Ability to maintain a various levels of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
B. Ability to solve minor issues and use established procedures to adapt changing conditions.
C. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
D. Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment and computer software.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
A. This position requires working in both the internal and external environment. Activities occur inside and outside where the position will be subject to changes in temperature.
B. This position will be exposed to physical hazards and equipment where special training and safety considerations are required.
C. This position has occasional exposure to noise, vibration, moving equipment, and various environmental conditions such as slippery railroad ties, catwalks or ballasts.
D. This position requires working nights, weekends or non-regular hours to meet deadlines.
E. This position requires frequent travel.

A. General office equipment including, but not limited to:
• Telephone
• Fax machine
• Copy machine
B. Computer, peripherals and the Microsoft Office software.
C. Industry related equipment including, but not limited to:
• Fluke Meter
• OCE Scanner
D. Computer software including, but not limited to:
• Baan Inventory Program
• CADD
BASIC EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIRED
A. Two year certificate (college or technical school) electrical related.
B. Familiarity with Transit and Safetran parts.
C. Knowledge of electricity.

D. AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience

TECHNICAL ABILITIES
A. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
