DEPARTMENT: Operations

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL APPLICANTS

DUTIES: This position is the direct interface at a senior level on all operating issues at CNOC. Responsible for the real-time management and coordination of Amtraks day-to-day passenger train operations nationwide. This includes direct responsibility for managing the locomotive/mechanical operations and fleet allocation as well as long-range planning. Responsible to coordinate efforts of the Divisions and senior level Engineering/Mechanical representatives to properly balance projects, resolve problems and enhance productivity. Additionally, this position will hold the responsibility of coordinating the freight services operation, working directly with Engineering to set up the daily operation of work trains. This position is responsible for achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, maximizing revenue, and controlling costs, through the efficient utilization of passenger equipment and management of company resources.


EDUCATION: Must have a Bachelors Degree in business administration, operations management, transportation management or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have demonstrated leadership skills, excellent public speaking, verbal and written communication skills, problem - solving and excellent administrative skills. Prior satisfactory job performance is required.

PREFFERED WORK EXPERIENCE:

Significant experience in railroad operations in a management capacity to include train operations; equipment, utility and division operations, and/or working in tactical operations command and control environment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proven ability to interface effectively with all internal and external contacts.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Some experience working with multiple team members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 7 Direct 47 Indirect

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 30%
