Train Derails In Oakland
A train derailment in Oakland Monday night didn't cause any damage, but it blocked traffic on Main Street.

According to Oakland police two Pan-Am box cars jumped the tracks while traveling through Oakland around 9:15 Monday night.

The boxcars did not tip over.

The cars were blocking traffic between Main Street and Oak Street.

Nobody was hurt, and there are no reports of damage....

Train Delays Traffic For Nearly Two Hours
A train blocking Market Street (U.S. 136) isn’t anything new for people traveling through Crawfordsville.

However, when it blocks the road for one hour and 48 minutes, it draws some attention.

At around 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, a CSX train stopped, and according to Crawfordsville Police Chief Kurt Knecht, the train had problems getting up a slope southeast of Crawfordsville.

Plans Evolve For High-speed Rail From Minn To Ill.
Plans continue to evolve for a high-speed rail line from the Twin Cities to Chicago, as Minnesota officials study possible routes the rail could follow.

Car, Lrt Collide In Bloomington
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) - A light-rail train and a small car were involved in a crash in Bloomington Monday afternoon.

Metro Transit said the crash happened near 34th Avenue and Interstate 494 just after noon.

According to Metro Transit, it appears a car leaving the eastbound exit ramp crossed the tracks and was struck by a train traveling northbound.

South Jersey Rail Line Postpones Fare Increase
South Jersey commuter rail passengers are getting a break from the Delaware River Port Authority.

The bistate agency announced Monday that it has postponed a 10 percent fare hike on its PATCO rail line that was scheduled to take effect in September 2010. The fare increase is now scheduled for January 2011.

Vt. Passenger Rail Expansion Tied To Stimulus

The Port of Seattle completed its long-anticipated purchase Monday of the 42-mile Eastside Rail Corridor that connects Snohomish to Renton.

Minor Injuries Reported In Train Collision
TRENTON — Several Septa crew members were taken to St. Francis Medical Center tonight after a switching error caused two trains to collide at a low speed in the yard at the Trenton Transit Center.

Thieves Disrupt Light Rail Service
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. - Regional Transit light rail service in Rancho Cordova was stopped Thursday after thieves stole some copper wiring from the system.

BOSTON - A Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority train derailed Tuesday at a station in Cambridge.

Train Derails, Spills Fuel In Bradenton
BRADENTON - A train derailed just north of U.S. 301 and Ninth Street East about 11 a.m. Tuesday, causing a diesel fuel spill of about 150 gallons, said Manatee County Public Safety Capt. Larry Leinhauser.

EFLAND, N.C. -- An Amtrak train heading from Charlotte to New York struck a car at a North Carolina railroad crossing, killing two people.
